Self-harm is an expression of one’s pain and I know life can be so challenging at times. Having someone who can support and guide you can make these times a bit more tolerable. I know self-harm behaviors are often a way to cope with overwhelming emotions, not simply a “problem to fix.” I have lots of experience helping individuals process their feelings and finding alternative ways to manage their pain. I also help parents navigate these challenges and offer ways to support their child.
Together, we work to understand what’s beneath the behavior, build emotional regulation skills, and create healthier ways to manage distress. My approach integrates skill-based learning and coping with DBT, somatic tools, and parts work. Doing this work together you will develop tools to manage these intense times and gain more insight into the triggers.
